FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
‘TIS THE SEASON FOR SYMPHONY AND SINGING
“Ho, Ho, Ho with the WSO!” is a Washington Symphony
Orchestra holiday tradition in Washington County and this year is no exception.
On Saturday, December 5th at 8 p.m. at Trinity High School in Washington, PA,
the WSO once again kicks off the holiday season in style.
WSO Music Director and Conductor Yugo Sava Ikach invites everyone to come “enjoy
your favorites from Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker, selections from Handel’s Messiah
and take a Musicological Journey through the Twelve Days of Christmas.”
In keeping with his vibrant and accessible style, Ikach will also lead the
orchestra through a couple of mischievous favorites from Elfman and Guaraldi,
sure to appeal to younger audience members. The California University of PA
Choir will add their voices to this evening of musical treasures so all who
attend get a full measure of holiday spirit!
Carol Couch of Wheeling won the right to guest conduct the traditional WSO
sing-along as high bidder during the WSO’s Grapes of Rhythm wine-tasting
fundraiser last April. “Our winning guest conductors always have a good time and
enjoy leading our orchestra in familiar holiday songs.” Ikach said.
Tickets are on sale at Citizens Library, all branches of Washington Federal
Savings Bank, on-line at www.washsym.org or
by calling 724-223-9796. Tickets are also sold at the door, but advance sales

must book in advance by calling 724-223-9796 or e-mailing
sandysabot@washsym.org. Visit the WSO website at
