NOTICE OF PRIVACY PRACTICES OF THE WASHINGTON SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA

 

We at The Washington Symphony Orchestra (WSO) respect your right to privacy and we understand that users of our website are the owners of their own personal information.

"Personal information" may include, but is not limited to, the name, address, telephone number, e-mail address and credit card information that you share with us. The WSO does not sell, rent, swap or otherwise disclose any of this information to any unauthorized third parties without your express consent.

We would like to inform you, the users of our website, how we do collect, store and use, personal information which you place on our site.

Collection of Information
We may require you to register or to provide personal information in order to make a commerce transaction, join a mailing list or become a WSO subscriber. We will never sell any of your information to any third party. We will not knowingly share your financial information with any unauthorized third party. We may ask you, when you register with us, if you would like us to share your demographic information (name and address) with reputable arts organizations with whom we have reciprocal arrangements for such sharing; otherwise, we will only share information with others in the aggregate, after any personally identifiable information has been removed.

Mailing Lists
If you provide us with your e-mail address the WSO may contact you periodically with special offers, updated information and new services. Any e-mails sent to you by the WSO will offer you the option to be removed from the e-mail mailing list, should you so choose. If you provide the WSO with your mailing address or telephone number, we may also use this information to alert you to updated information and new services. If you wish to be removed from either type of mailing or telephone list, you may contact the WSO at any time and make such a request (see below).

Information to Third Parties
The WSO may, on occasion, present a special contest or promotion on its website that is sponsored by another entity. To qualify for entry, we may ask you to provide personal information. If we plan to share that information with the sponsor(s) of the contest or promotion, we will clearly state that intention so that you are aware of it at the time you enter the contest or promotion.

Financial Information
The WSO will protect any personal financial information that you share with us. If you make a purchase online, we will use your credit card number only to process your payment. We will not use your financial information for any marketing purposes. We will retain order information only for our records, and we will not knowingly share this information with third parties.

Our site may include links to other websites whose privacy policies we do not control. Once you leave our servers (you can check where you are by checking the URL in the location bar on your browser), use of any information you provide to the other site is governed by the privacy practices of the operator of the site you are visiting. We do not knowingly solicit personal information from children.
