About Yugo
Yugo has enjoyed the post of WSO Music Director and Principal Conductor since 2005. He served as a Professor of Music and Department Chair at California University of Pennsylvania (now PennWest California) for 15 years before becoming the Dean of Graduate Studies and Research and now Associate Dean for the College of Education, Arts, and Humanities.
Past performances as a singer and conductor have led him to performing in venues ranging from opera and music theater stages to concert halls, casinos, riverboats, the White House, and even traveling to Rome performing for two Popes.
Yugo holds music degrees from Carnegie-Mellon University, the Peabody Conservatory of Music (Johns Hopkins University), and West Virginia University.
Yugo and his wife Charmaine, along with children Savannah, Arwen, Isaac, and Isabelle are happy residents of Washington, PA.
