9/11 Remembrance Concert
Saturday, September 12, 7:00pm
Join the Washington Symphony Orchestra and Washington Festival Chorale for a powerful evening of music and remembrance commemorating the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001.
This special community concert, held at Immaculate Conception Church in Washington, will bring together a chamber orchestra and choir to honor those whose lives were lost, the families forever changed, the courage of first responders and service members, and the extraordinary resilience and unity that followed. The program features Dan Forrest’s moving Requiem for the Living, Samuel Barber’s poignant Adagio for Strings, and additional choral works reflecting themes of remembrance, hope, peace, and the dream of a better world.
Twenty-five years later, we gather not only to remember, but to reflect on the strength of community and the enduring hope that can unite us in even the darkest of times.
Admission is free, but advance registration is strongly encouraged to help us prepare for attendance and ensure seating availability.
